Imaizumi IP Law is a specialized intellectual property firm focusing on utility and design patent applications, as well as trademark applications and opinion work on infringement and validity. We bring a strong focus on creative solutions in both English and Japanese and continue to believe in delivering quality results at reasonable fees.

Our office is conveniently located near the US Patent and Trademark Office, which allows us to quickly conduct in-person interviews with examiners at the Office. We believe that in-person interviews are one of the most important tools, and often one of the most neglected, in obtaining strong intellectual property rights.

We bring a unique approach that balances a detailed technical approach with a comprehensive understanding of the underlying legal frameworks around intellectual property. Our technical areas of focus include computer hardware and software, image processing, microscope technology, optical systems, power supplies, and chemical compounds and composition.

Prior to founding Imaizumi IP Law, Toshikatsu Imaizumi, worked in the Intellectual Property Department for Ricoh Company, Ltd, a Japanese multinational imaging and electronics company. Toshikatsu has a JD from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (Franklin Pierce Center for IP) and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Chuo University.

He is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and is registered to practice before the USPTO. He is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
